32 Weeks Pregnant – Symptoms, Baby Development & Tips

At the 32nd week of pregnancy every woman would become anxious to deliver the baby. It is normal with you if you wish to have your baby outside your body due to the internal pressure and too many other discomforts.

Do not ignore your visit to the clinic and undergo all the tests as directed by your doctor. Stop working on any strenuous activities from now on since you are on the third trimester and only last few weeks is left for delivery. Continue to eat nutritious food and drink plenty of water. Take rest whenever you want to instead of waiting for night time.

32 Weeks Pregnant Symptoms

You would be constantly gaining weight during these weeks along with your baby’s weight gain. Many women would gain approximately one pound a week from this week. You will also have surplus blood in your system for managing the functions of your metabolism along with that of your baby. Further you need extra volumes of blood during delivery stage since there will be excess of blood loss.

Many women will experience all pregnancy symptoms during the last stage of pregnancy. Your breasts will be heavy and you may have leg cramps and swelling often. Heartburn and constipation will continue until childbirth. For some women symptoms like shortness of breath, nose bleeds, hemorrhoids and vaginal discharge are seen. Of course, you might experience frequent mood swings due to increased secretion of pregnancy hormones. Lot of changes is happening internally when your baby prepares to move inwards into the pelvic area to get ready for coming out.

32 Weeks Pregnant Baby’s Development

From this week on, your baby might become quiet and calm without much activity. But this is not the case for all women. He may not be having enough room for moving around inside the womb since his body has grown bigger in size now. The baby’s weight will be roughly 4-5 pounds and would be 16-17 inches in length. The baby will be having his head down having a complete turn from its original position. This is called breech position as the baby gets ready for seeing the world outside.

His sleeping time gets reduced at this stage since he cannot sleep for hours together like before. It is the stage when the babies would have dream as believed by expert doctors. For this reason also his normal sleeping pattern gets disrupted. His brain will continue to develop and fat substances gets deposited below the skin adding more weight for him.

The baby looks wrinkly till now and is red or rose in color. The umbilical cord produces a gel like material for having extra protection layer when the baby makes twists and turns inside. Now his skeleton is formed completely but still his bones remain flexible and soft so that he can push himself through the small vaginal opening. Only in later stage the bones become hard.

Tips For The Week

In case you have not made any shopping for your baby till now then find time to complete it soon. You may need them anytime within few weeks. Continue eating healthy foods and sleep well.  You can discuss with your doctor about the plan of delivery and distinguish between false labor pain and original pain. False sign of labor contraction will reduce after some time and that too with less vigor. But real labor pain will be increasingly troubling you as time passes.

You cannot sleep on your back and hence you can keep on changing positions. Taking lukewarm bath can help in soothing your muscles. Please be patient and remember just only few weeks are left.
